Thank you for visiting our publishing project webpage!
We want your help in publishing our family’s first book. My kids are age 10, 9, 7, and 5. We’re headed to New York City on December 19 to see the Statue of Liberty. Not only are we planning to see the Statue, we’re producing a book about ‘her’ with facts, games and puzzles! This will be a book for all ages, but appealing to children. Our project page that enables you to help us will be on kickstarter.com.
Let me tell you more………
This Christmas vacation, our family of six will be visiting the Status of Liberty on December 21 for the first time ever. We’ve been planning this trip for a long time and are very excited. During our planning, we’ve discovered something very interesting. One common interest throughout our family members is the love of the Statue of Liberty! We all share a deep fascination to learn more about the Status of Liberty, and of course an eagerness to visit her this Christmas. As we learn more about the Status of Liberty, we decided to not only learn together, but create this new project together – a book on the Statue of Liberty, that would not only include a history of the Statue of Liberty, but games and puzzles.
Admittedly, long trips are not new to us since my wife is from Belgium. And we go there each summer. ( In fact, all the children are fluent in French, making this project even more interesting since the Statue of Liberty was a gift from the people of France.) However for most years we traveled with very young children and did not get to venture to new places often. Just recently we have started to get more adventurous and spent some time in London. Although, New York City and the Statue of Liberty come up mostly in places to see next. So, we’ve purchased the tickets to get there this December!
I suspect my children’s interest in New York City comes from many sources. Both my wife and I have visited there during the best few years and brought back interesting stories and gifts. And there is a MaryKate and Ashley Olsen movie filmed in New York City. Additionally, I have watched quite a few episodes of Apprentice with my children, and pointed out scenes of New York City to them, as well.
As for creating a book. we are big fans of the online book creation tools at shutterfly, kodak, and cafepress websites. We’ve been discussing many different book ideas for months now. We all agree a book on the Statue of Liberty would be most interesting. And, as I mentioned, the children are all fluent in French, making this project even more exciting.
Your support will help us in creating the book. We’ve already covered the trip itself, so support goes directly to the book creation. Along the way, we’ll keep you informed on our progress.
Thank you for reading this far……
